JAMMU, Sept 4: Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Virender Singh and Justice Tashi Rabstan today disposed of suo-moto PIL regarding water crisis, on the statement of Chief Engineer that 80% water supply had been restored and rest 20% water supply will be restored shortly.
When the PIL came-up for hearing, Chief Engineer PHE stated that PHE Workers Welfare Association has suspended its strike for a week and that the water supply in 80% area of Jammu town has been restored.
“Due to damage of certain pipes and electric panels in some areas water supply could not be restored till yesterday and is likely to be restored today positively as the restoration work is going on war footing”, he further submitted.
“The grievances of the public at large as projected in instant petition have been redressed and Senior Advocate M K Bhardwaj has also stated that nothing survives in the petition”, the DB observed and disposed of the PIL.
