UP Urdu Academy felicitates Lehar

JAMMU, Sept 4: Renowned Urdu writer and patron of Nami Dogri Sanstha, SS Anand Lehar was awarded by Uttar Pradesh (UP) Urdu Academy for his Urdu novel ‘Namdev’.
The award which included a citation and some cash was presented recently by Chief Minister of UP, Akhilesh Yadav.
Lehar has already written 12 books in Urdu and has been awarded several times by many Governmental and non-Governmental organisations.
Besides, Lehar has written and produced number of serials for Doordarshan Kendra, Jammu. He has also written and produced two serials namely ‘Agli Eid Se Pehle’ and ‘Taqseem’ for Kashir Channel of DD-1. Lehar’ writings have been translated into many languages including English, Hindi, Punjabi, Dogri and Kashmiri.
Recently, he has started a project of preparing cassettes on Dil Ki Gita, ie. Gita written by Khawaza Dil Mohd and first audio cassette of the same has been released while the video cassette is being released soon.
