Sakina expresses grieve over loss of lives

SRINAGAR: Minister for Social Welfare, Ms. Sakina Itoo today expressed her heartfelt sorrow and grief over the loss of lives caused due to floods.

Ms. Sakina said that government has taken all necessary steps for providing all possible assistance to the flood affected people, besides putting in place the adequate mechanism.

She appealed the people that an Emergency Relief cell has been established in Batamalloo and asked them to call at Nos. 0194-2474040, 2452138, 2455883 for any kind of help from the Government.

She also directed the concerned officers to remain available to the people round the clock and monitor the situation and asked them to coordinate with each other to address the problems.

In view of the incessant rains in the Kashmir Valley which have caused flood situation, the R&B department has established Control Rooms at Direction Office Lal Mandi and at Circle office, Srinagar/Budgam.
