Naaz urges govt to provide every help to flood affected people

JAMMU: Vice Chairman (MoS) State Advisory Board for Development of Gujjar & Bakerwal, Choudhary Bashir Naaz has urged the government to provide all possible help to the flood affected people.

He expressed sympathies with the people who have suffered damage to residential houses, shops and other property due to in incessant rains and heavy flood in the state in general especially in Poonch, Mandi and Surankote.

He said that loss of property needs to be assessed on priority basis and compensation and other measures for rehabilitation of sufferers may be taken on war footing.

Naaz also called for restoration of all the roads clocked due to landslides and damages.    He said many foot and vehicular bridges including link of Sher-e-Kashmir Bridge Poonch have been washed away due to which many sensitive pockets and habitations have been cut off. Besides vital roads, school buildings and other government buildings particularly in rural areas have suffered extensive damages, he said added that the District Administration has put in all efforts to rescue the stranded people.
