Educational institutions celebrate Teachers Day

JAMMU, Sept 5: The birth anniversary of former President and noted academician Dr S Radha Krishnan was celebrated today as ‘Teachers Day’.
Despite the declaration of holiday and incessant rains, a number of educational institutions across Jammu celebrated the day with enthusiasm like other parts of the country.
The members on staff of the State Institute of Education Jammu celebrated the Teachers’ Day with pomp and gaiety. On this occasion, H R Pakhroo, Director School Education Jammu, who was the chief guest, exhorted the teachers to dedicate themselves to the cause of community as teachers are instrumental in shaping the destiny of the country. He also impressed upon them to work with dedication and honesty in their institution for addressing the quality component of the education and for shaping the career of their students.
Field Advisors S  K Raina and S L Tengloo also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of the teachers’ day.
National Secular Forum celebrated the Day in Jammu University campus by greeting all the teachers for their valuable contribution to the society by imparting knowledge and enlightening and shaping the career of the students.
On the occasion, NSF members greeted and presented trophy to JU Vice Chancellor Prof Mohan Pal Singh Ishar who highlighted the role of teachers in the student’s life. He said that a teacher can guide the whole generation through his versatile personality.
UG and PG students from SKUAST-Jammu organized a  function on the occasion of teacher’s day.
All the teachers, including  Dr  Moni Gupta, Dr  B  K , Dr  Vivek Arya, Dr  Rajeev Sangra, Dr Ajay Gupta, Dr Satish Kumar, Dr  Sinha and president of the Teaching Association Dr  Vikas Sharma attended the function.
Speakers on the occasion, threw light on importance of the day and stressed the need to further strengthen the teacher-student bond.
Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Deemed University, Shri Ranbir Campus, Kot Bhalwal Jammu celebrated the Teacher’s Day by organizing a function on the campus. The programme started with Vedic rituals and lighting of ceremonial lamp by the guest.
On the occasion, various activities were conducted and the students were given away prizes. Principal honoured Ramdhan Shastri, seniormost Sanskrit teacher of KV Domana for his sincere services to Sanskrit studies and contribution to Indian culture.
In response to the call of the Prime Minister, State Bank of India joined hands with education institutions to commemorate Teacher’s Day. As a responsible corporate citizen, SBI donated computer sets to various schools as a step forward to fulfill the dream of converting the country into Digital India. SBI Samba  branch donated one computer set to Kendriya Vidyalya  Samba  in presence of teaching faculty, administrative staff and students.
On the occasion, S K Kandroo, Chief Manager SBI Samba  assured full support from the bank in rendering better services.
Teachers day was celebrated in DPS, Udhampur with great pomp and show. Students of class XI became teachers and took classes. A beautiful cultural programme was also presented by the students of classes VI, X and XI. Various dances, skits, and poems were recited by students while  Chairman of the school Dr J C Gupta, delivered speech throwing light on teaching professions and dedication of teachers.
G S Accounts Institute, Lower Moti Bazar, Parade, Jammu, celebrated Teacher’s Day with fervor today.  On the occasion, 15 students delivered speech on Teacher’s Day and threw light on ideal personality of Dr Radha Krishnan. Consolation prizes were distributed to the 15 students by Girish Sharma,  proprietor of the Institute.
Gandhi Memorial College of Education celebrated the day with fervor and gaiety. Rich floral tributes were paid to Dr Radha Krishnan by  Principal Prof G L Koul, Prof  Satish Talashi (Administrator) and students and staff of GMCEJ. While complimenting the teaching fraternity of GMCEJ. Prof G L Koul  appreciated the teachers for their altruistic devotion to their profession and  said that teachers are like beacons of light, who guide the students in their formative years .The celebrations included a gala show presented by students from all wings of GMCEJ. The teachers were given a very warm welcome by the students with a scintillating welcome song which was followed by different items.
Modern Secular Institute of Education, Laxmipuram, Chinore, Jammu, celebrated the Teacher’s day in the school. The students presented various cultural programs which were liked by the teachers and  students who had come to participate in the function.
The Vice Principal of  the school,  M K Bhan and  Office in charge  Rattan Lal Bhat threw light on the life and achievements of Dr  S  Radha Krishnan and explained the teacher-student relations in the present changed scenario.
Sacred Heart College of Education Paloura celebrated Teacher’s Day in the college premises. On this occasion, a cultural programme was organized by the students.  Mula Ram, former Minister was the chief guest while  Hari Singh Chib, M D of the College and  Prakash Singh Bhau, Ex DFO were the guests of honour. Dr  K K  Tiwari, Principal of the college presided over the function.
Mula Ram highlighted  the contribution of  Dr  S  Radha Krishanan in the field of education while  Hari Singh said that the teacher is the pillar of the nation. In the end gifts were presented to the teachers as a token of respect towards them.
All J&K RET Teachers’ Forum  celebrated the Teachers’ Day by organizing a function at Krishna Palace Udhampur under the chairmanship of State president Vinod Sharma and district president Lekh Raj Parihar.
All the teachers on the occasion paid  rich tribute to the Dr S Radha Krishnan and pledged to work with dedication in their teaching work to raise the standard of Education and create moral values among the students.
Yoga Nanda College of Engineering & Technology and Institute of Management Sciences celebrated the Teacher’s Day by organizing an impressive function and cutting a cake. The chief guests of the day were Prof  J R Dhotra, Director-IMS and Dr  Seema Narain, Director-YCET. Guest of honour was Er  B R  Verma, Dean Academics-YCET. Prof  Dhotra advised the students to benefit from the service of teachers and imbibe the noble qualities envisioned by them. Dr  Seema Narain  highlighted the important role of teachers in emerging world while Er  B R  Verma appreciated the service of the teachers and wished them all the blessings in the days to come.
On the occasion, Teachers and non teaching staff were awarded for their service to JGEI. Variety of entertainment programmes were performed by the students.
Teacher day was celebrated with great pomp and show by KCGPS. Students of the school celebrated this day by organizing a program in which life history of Dr  Sarvpalli  Radha Krishnan was highlighted. The students gave speeches on the life of  Dr  Radha Krishnan and also performed various cultural activities like dance, skits etc. The Principal, Sagar Banerjee  greeted the teachers on this occasion and said  that these are teachers who tirelessly light the lamp of knowledge and shape the futures of the coming  generations.
Sunrise Public School organized a Teacher’s day Programme at Channi Himmat Jammu.
On the occasion, lots of activities like  singing and dancing competition were organized by the schools students.
The teachers of Sri Guru Gobind Singh School, today celebrated teachers day in its school premesis. All the teachers of the higher secondary, junior and middle wing participated in the function while  Chairman of the school, Prof  Harbans Singh motivated the teachers to adopt new techniques and methods of teaching.
Teachers’ Day was celebrated by BSF School with fervour and gaiety at the school premises. In this connection, a special morning assembly was held wherein teachers paid floral tribute to Dr S Radha Krishnan. Chairperson BWWA,  Pratibha Sharma, first lady BSF Jammu FTR was the chief guest on the occasion. She was enthralled by the performance of the students and the enthusiasm of the teachers in imparting quality education to them. The chief guest also felicitated the teachers by giving gifts to them.
Jodhamal Public School celebrated the day by watching live interaction of the students with the PM for which special arrangements were made in the school premises. The school teachers and other staff were also present in the hall.
Teacher and students of R M  Public School celebrated teachers Day with great zest and zeal. Students presented number of heart throbbing dances and melodious songs. On this occasion,  guests were PDP leader Bharat Choudhary, Sardar Amrik Singh Reen and  Vijay Raina. Chairman of  R M  Public School  Rameshwar Mengi  threw light on importance of the day.
To honour the enlightened teaching fraternity, the students and staff of Government Higher Secondary School (Camp) Bohri, Jammu celebrated ‘Teachers Day’ with enthusiasm and fervour in its School premises.
A special morning assembly was held to pay floral tributes to Sarvapalli Radha Krishanan. Principal of the School, Ramesh Hakim, who  was chief guest on the occasion, threw light on the personality and life style of Dr Radha Krishnan. He advised the teachers to impart value based education to the students, apart from covering syllabi of their respective classes. Teachers distributed sweets among the students.
The students of Sai Montessorie Higher Secondary School, New Plots, Lakkar Mandi, Jammu celebrated ‘Teachers Day’ by displaying their talents through speeches, poems, storytelling, puppet show and play.

On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, celebrations were undertaken at GLS Public School, Amar Colony, Gole Gujral Road, Jammu, to honour teachers for their sincere efforts to impart knowledge to their students. Dr  S Radha Krishnan and his valuable words were also remembered and the students and the teachers were encouraged to follow his teachings. On this day, school students dressed up like their teachers and taught their juniors, the same way as their teachers do. Activities like debates, skits were performed and poems were read out to mark this occasion. The teachers were given titles and the students shared words about their favourite teachers. Best teachers’ awards were also given on this occasion.
Teachers Day was celebrated at Vishwa Bharati Public Higher Secondary School Udheywala Jammu with grace and gusto. Senior students of the school managed the school right from its morning assembly to the close of the day. Students of class 12th, dressed up as  their favourite teachers, managed the school and exhibited an interesting show in the school auditorium..
J L Koul, secretary of the College of Education and Public School was the chief guest on the occasion.  Besides the programme was attended by  Sunita Kampassi, Principal College of Education, entire teaching fraternity of College of Education and school.
The highlights of the programme were the speeches, songs and dances.
On this auspicious day, A K Bhat, Chief Manager from SBI Talab Tillo, facilitated the school by donating a computer system and  Best teacher award.
Teachers Day was celebrated as demand day at Kalpana Chawala Memorial School Vijaypur by  J&K United School Teachers Association. Speaking on the occasion,  Hari Singh strongly criticized the Central and State Govt for deteriorating standard of education in the schools and blocking salary grants of thousands of teachers who are without salary for more than six months. USTA strongly criticized the education authorities at the helm of affairs who are playing in the hands of corrupt elements.
Dewan Badrinath Vidya Mandir Amarvilla celebrated teacher’s day by organizing a function wherein  Vijay Lakshmi, Joint Secretary J&K State Board of School Education was the chief guest.  Dr  Gautam Mengi presided over the function, which started with chanting of Mantras and performing of Hawan. After that the students presented a  cultural programme.
Speakers spoke about the role of the teacher in making India a developed  country of the world. The chief guest impressed upon the teachers faculty to serve the nation and the students in bringing up them as the great citizen of the country.
Kartar Public School Barnoti celebrated  Teacher’s Day in the school premises. On the occasion, students of class 12th acted like  teachers and went into the class rooms and taught  the students. After that a colourful cultural program was also presented by the students of 9th to 12th standard. The proceedings of the program were conducted by Heema & Kunal  while vote of thanks was presented by  Anjali.

Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School Jeevan Nagar Jammu celebrated Teacher’s Day by paying rich tributes to former President Dr S Radha Krishnan.
On the occasion, Indira Bhalla was the chief guest and she distributed gifts among the faculty members and non-teaching staff of the school. Students presented various items while the Principal Rameshwar Mengi threw light on importance of the day.
An impressive function was held at Government Degree College Dharmari for celebrating the Teacher’s Day. The college Principal Dr Tilak Raj Sharma threw light on life history of Dr S Radha Krishnan while students presented a cultural bonanza. A symposium was also held after which prizes were distributed among the participants.
Bansal Classes Jammu celebrated the Teacher’s Day. Students on the occasion performed various activities like singing and dancing. They thanked their teachers for the affection, guidance and support to fulfill their dreams.
