CSD chief visits flood hit areas of Samba

SAMBA, Sept 7: Chief of Congress Seva Dal (CSD), BS Sambyal today visited various flood affected areas of the district and took stock of the flood like situation arisen due to torrential rains.
Sambyal visited Ramgarh, village Keso, Garhwal, Rangoor, Pakhari, Rekka, Go Brahmna, Ghagor, Vijaypur town, Gujjar Colony, Gurah Slathia, Devak City, Badhwal, Simblawali, Rakh Barotiyan, Gujjar Basti, Sangwal and listened to the grievances of the people.
He observed that due to continuous heavy rainfall, many people lost their lives while many are still trapped in flood water. The flood water not only damaged the standing Rabi crops but also the houses of the people. Due to unprecedented rains, road connectivity and water as well as electricity have been badly hit, he added.
Sambyal urged the Government to take initiative on the war footing to protect the lives of urban and rural families trapped in flood water and control the further damage of infrastructure. He also urged for immediate announcement of ex-gratia for those who lost their business, crops, houses and infrastructure.
