JAMMU, Sept 8: President of Samajwadi Party (SP) Sheikh Abdul Rehman held a meeting with party office bearers and expressed shock and grief over the loss of life and property and inefficiency of a State Government to deal with the flood situation.
The Party has demanded that both Central and State Government should take immediate steps to save life, live stocks and crops in the State.
Rehman expressed concern that Chenab valley is cut off from rest of the State but State Government is not giving desired attention to flood affected areas of Chenab valley. People of Chenab valley are facing shortage of food, medicines, water, clothing and other necessities of life, he added.
He also demanded that Government should prepare a concrete plan for handling such natural calamities. He demanded that both Central and State Government should extend liberal help to flood effected people of the State.
