NEW DELHI, Sept 10: Extending losses for the third day, cardamom prices fell further by Rs 0.49 per cent to Rs 958 per kg in futures trading today as speculators indulged in reducing positions due to subdued demand in the spot market.
Besides, adequate stocks position in the physical market on increased arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on cardamom prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in September traded lower by Rs 4.70, or 0.49 per cent to Rs 958 per kg in business turnover of 13 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in October shed Rs 1.10, or 0.12 per cent to Rs 941.50 per kg in 73 lots.
Market analysts said besides subdued demand, adequate stocks position on increased arrivals in the spot markets from producing regions mainly kept pressure on cardamom prices for the third day at futures trade. (PTI)
