RANCHI, Sep 11:
Jharkhand Government today announced a sum of Rs 5 crore as relief for the flood victims of Jammu and Kashmir.
A decision in this regard was taken in the state cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
‘Apart from the financial assistance a special team will be sent to J&K to rescue the people of the State who have been trapped in the floods’, Cabinet Secretary J B Tubid here said after the meeting.
Among others the State Government also announced to provide bicycles to all the students studying in the Government schools of the State.
A decision was also taken to hike the amount paid under Mukhyamantri Kanyadaan Yojna from Rs 15,000 to Rs 30,000.
‘Government will also ensure help of Rs 10,000 to the old aged people not being supported by their children’, Mr Tubid said adding that money would be obtained from the wards of those people.
Four more checkposts would be constructed in the State. (UNI)
