JAMMU, Sept 11: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party expressed its anguish, shock and dismay on the situation that has arisen in J&K following the havoc and devastation caused due to unprecedented floods in Kashmir valley and Jammu Pradesh.
The Panthers Party leaders urged N N Vohra, Governor to open Governor’s Relief Fund so that all donors may contribute directly in the Governor Relief Fund and that NDRF and SDRF should be monitored under the supervision of the State Governor.
The Panthers Party also condemned the British Parliament for raising the bogey of the so called J&K problem.
A joint statement was issued by Prof Bhim Singh, Harshdev Singh MLA & Chairman, Balwant Singh Mankotia MLA and president, Yashpal Kundal MLA & general secretary in a press conference.
The Working Committee of JKNPP in a resolution urged N N Vohra, Governor to invoke S-2 of J&K Constitution by proclamation to assume to himself all the functions of the Government of the State as well as all the powers vested in or exercisable by the Council of Ministers.
The Panthers Party regretted that the Government has failed even to setup a single information centre in a safe zone anywhere in the State as even the public places like Raj Bhawan, Chief Minister office, Divisional Commissioner offices, as well as Police headquarters have ceased to functions. It is only the brave efforts of the Indian Army which have saved the lives of lakhs of people and still fighting with total dedication to carry on rescue operation on land, on water and in air.
The Panthers Party has setup information centers in New Delhi, Jammu and Srinagar but there is no place to convey this information collected regarding the missing persons in Kashmir valley.
