Ch Liaqat tours flood hit Kandi, Kotranka and Budhal areas

RAJOURI, Sept 11: Ch Liaqat toured Budhal, Kotranka and Kandi areas and interacted with the people to assess the damages caused due to devastating rains and difficulties being faced by the locals.
Ch Liaqat observed that due to collapse of Kotranka Bridge, Budhal area was cut off and people were facing miseries. Due to collapse of the bridge, there is acute shortage of ration, LPG, and medicines at Budhal while houses and agriculture land of the people have also suffered massive damages, he added and assured all possible relief to the affected people. He asked the Government departments to make arrangements for compensation, tents, ration, LPG, medicines and other essential commodities for the affected people.
Referring about the family, whose three members were buried alive under the landslides, the Choudhary appealed the Government to ensure that the surviving members of this family may be compensated and provided all possible help.
He also observed that in Kotranka, around 80 percent houses had developed cracks and a few were fully damaged due to which the people were forced to spend their nights in open. He appealed the Government to make temporary arrangements for shelter to these people and make ensure that the damaged houses are repaired as early as possible besides providing the people free ration and kerosene oil.
