Vodafone restoring connectivity in Valley

JAMMU, Sept 15: With the support and co-operation of the Government authorities, Vodafone is ensuring connectivity for its customers by restoring its network besides providing connectivity to other subscribers through the intra-circle roaming arrangement with other private operators and vice versa.
According to a handout, issued by Vodafone, important towns being covered by the network, included Srinagar, Ganderbal, Anantnag, Pahalgam, Ashmuqam, Seer, Mattan, Qazigund, Kukernag, Achabal, Pulwama, Tral, Awantipora, Chadoora, Budgam, Charare Sharif, Magam, Bandipora, Sopore, Pattan, Baramula, Gulmarg, Drugmulla, Keeri and Handwara.
Hazratbal, Lal Chowk, Budgam Railway Station and Airport are among the important places being covered while total 6 out of 8 BSC of Kashmir have been made live and paired with Jammu MSC.
The Vodafone  has approximately 700 sites (including ICR) providing coverage in the Valley and  around 3 lakh active customer base, which is around 73 percent of  total      base before network went down.
Since September 12, the Vodafone has started providing daily free 60 local/STD minutes for all its customers and it will continue till tomorrow.  As per DOT guidelines, we have created special SIM which is being issued to the    public at large without proof of Identity and residence, the handout added.
