CM sends Rs 1 cr cheque for J&K flood victims

SHIMLA : Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has sent a cheque of Rs one crore to the Jammu and Kashmir government for the relief and rehabilitation works in the flood hit state on behalf of the people and Government of Himachal Pradesh.
Mr Singh said the people of Himachal Pradesh were deeply pained and concerned at the massive devastation brought by the rains and floods in Jammu and Kashmir, an official statement here today said.
He said that the people of the state expressed their sympathy and solidarity with the flood-hit people in the hour of distress and calamity.
The Chief Minister said that the state government would extend its full cooperation and support to the Jammu and Kashmir Government in this hour of distress and crisis, the statement added.
