NEW DELHI, Sep 16:
State-owned pharmaceutical companies are in a position to supply all drugs required to deal with any emergency situation in flood ravaged Jammu & Kashmir, the Government today said.
The Public Sector Undertakings under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers are in a position to supply all drugs as required to deal with any emergency situation in J&K, a release said.
The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare had identified 23 drugs to deal with emergency situation in J&K and 12 of these drugs are readily available in stocks, it added.
“The Minister for Chemicals & Fertilisers Ananth Kumar had reviewed the situation and instructions were issued to the PSUs to gear up themselves to meet any demands for supply all essential drugs as required,” it said.
With water having started to recede in several areas, the authorities are now fearing outbreak of disease in the flood affected State.
The death toll in the northern State has already crossed 200 so far with the spotting of 13 more bodies today. (AGENCIES)
