Copper futures fall 0.34 pc on weak global cues

NEW DELHI, Sept 18:  Tracking a weak global trend, copper prices fell 0.34 per cent to Rs 426.60 per kg in futures trade today as speculators offloaded positions.
Further, subdued demand at domestic spot market weighed on metal prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November fell Rs 1.45, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 426.60 per kg in business turnover of 351 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in copper futures to weak global cues after home prices weakened in the biggest user China and as the dollar climbed, reducing demand for metals.
Meanwhile, copper dropped  by 0.90 per cent to USD 6,872.25 per metric tonne at the London Metal Exchange. (PTI)
