Pawar visits flood affected villages of Udhampur

JAMMU, Sept 20: Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) and President Mahila Congress Indu Pawar along with team of women workers visited flood and rain affected Saddal village of Pancheri in district Udhampur vis-à-vis Moungri, Kasooli and Ladda villages also.
The team met with the survivors of Saddal village, which has been completely buried under massive landslide triggered due to heavy rains recently.
Expressing shock over the tragedy, she asked for early re-location of village at some safe place after proper studies by experts of the field.
She added that the Government should take steps for permanent rehabilitation of the villages to prevent further loss of life and property, cattle, wealth, etc.
Adequate steps are required to be taken for feeding human beings and their live stock during forthcoming winter season, Pawar said.
The team distributed some relief material to affected families also and assured of all kind of help, which they required in this need of hour. She appealed the district administration to assess the loss and sanction relief funds at the earliest.
