Charak addresses series of public meetings in Bishnah

JAMMU, Sept 21: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Gulchain Singh Charak today addressed a meeting of Youth Blood Association, which was held under the chairmanship of S Sohan Singh for highlighting the local issues of Bishnah constituency.
Speakers in the meeting expressed their concern about the problems being faced by people in Bishnah and alleged that the local MLA has failed to discharge his duties effectively.
Mr Charak, while addressing the youth, assured them of his full support and cooperation in their noble cause and asked them to come forward and take part in the struggle started for mitigating the problems of people.
Earlier, Mr Charak along with office bearers of Block Congress Committee Bishnah attended series of meetings at village Kaku-de-Kothey, Trewa and Jabowal.
During the meetings, the people were enraged about the erratic electric supply due to defective and insufficient electric poles in the areas. They also expressed their anguish over the slow assessment of the damage caused to the houses damaged completely or partially due to devastating heavy rains and also the pick and choose policy being adopted by the authorities on the behest of some political leaders with mal-intentions.
Mr Charak also addressed a joint meeting of Ward number 2 and 3 at Arnia town. While speaking on the occasion, he appealed the people including all the former Municipal Councilors of the respective wards, Sarpanches, Panches and Numberdars to identify the people who have suffered loss to their houses and property due to recent heavy rains and bring into the notice of the concerned Tehsildar so that the affected may get their due and timely compensation.
Others who spoke on the occasion, included Gambhir Dev Singh, Madan Bhagat, Nand Lal, S Mehar Singh and Capt Janak Raj.
