JAMMU, Sept 22: A monthly meeting of Congress workers was held at Machedi in Bani constituency under the leadership of Rajnesh Sharma.
The meeting was organized by Sarpanch Khushi Ram which was attended by large number of people from all walks of life including youth leaders Makhan Singh, Sanjay Kumar and Bittu Kumar.
Sarpanch Khushi Ram while speaking apprised Rajnesh Sharma that the rains and flood damaged lot of houses and crops in the areas and no one from the administration visited the area to assess the loss.
He further said that in this far-flung area the people are dependent on crops, which has been damaged due to rain and floods.
Rajnesh Sharma assured the people that he will take up the matter with the concerned department to assess the loss so that relief could be distributed among the people.
Later, Rajnesh Sharma visited Duggaini village and attended Chhinj Mela. While speaking, Sharma said that this mela is symbol of unity among all the religions.
He presented Rs 5,100 to the organizers of the Chhinj Mela and Rs 200 each to all the handicapped people present on the occasion.
Sharma further said if he got a chance to represent the Bani constituency in the forthcoming Assembly elections his main focus will be on the road connectivity of the area.
