UDHAMPUR, Sept 22: A young house wife committed suicide by setting herself ablaze in the house of her in-laws at Bryalta in Udhampur district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Manu, wife of Mushtyak Ahmad of Bryalta. She allegedly sprinkled kerosene oil on her body and set herself ablaze.
Even as the family members shifted her to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors referred her to GMC Hospital Jammu, she succumbed to the injuries this morning.
Cause behind the extreme step could not be ascertained while Police has registered a case in this connection under Section 309.
Meanwhile, two persons were injured when a minibus rammed into a roadside mound at Pattan Garh in Udhampur.
The injured were identified as Hisab Din (17) son of Bagh Ali of Kdiya and Krishana son of Rolu of Mantlai. Udhampur.
