A right move

Sir,
The Central Govt’s decision to do away with the practice of submitting affidavits and replacing it with self attestation of documents for various purposes is a right move towards simplifying the system, providing much needed respite from avoidable stress and strain. The practice of submitting copies of documents/affidavits attested by either class-one officers or notaries for procuring valid documents like gas connection, passport, telephone connection/mobile connection and ration card etc in order to avail various Govt schemes or services provided by private or Govt agencies/companies/department or for those intending to go abroad etc is indeed, a hassle-full and cumbersome process and taxes upon citizen’s time and money. To get these documents the citizens have to undergo immense mental stress and strain. The citizen friendly move  will obviate unnecessary tension to them for getting the documents/affidavits prepared. Besides, I would like to bring to the fore another problem faced by citizens  at the time of getting any change incorporated in the original documents, like address change in gas connection, telephone or mobile bills etc.  The incorporation of such changes in the original documents of the citizens should not take much time and the task could be done within a  few days but the concerned companies or quarters take unnecessary  long time even spanning months together. They again force the bona-fide citizens to submit photocopies of all the original documents as if the one is getting these connections  for the first time.  And the experience has been that despite submitting documents more than once, a simple change in address at times takes months together, causing unnecessary harassment to the citizens.
Mind it, not all people are mischievous deploy unfair means to get requisite documents through forced documents. Then why to put all in trouble for such trivial matters ? Certainly, the duplication of such documents at every stage needs to be stemmed.
Therefore, I would like to appeal to the Govt to please do something to avoid duplication of documents where the original ones already exist with them. This will like-wise relieve the citizen of unnecessary tensions caused by these petty matters. The step is indeed citizen friendly and further avenues for simplication in system need to be probed.
Yours etc…
