JAMMU, Sept 25: Financial Commissioner, Industries and Commerce, Khursheed Ahmed Ganai has said that `Make in India’ campaign launched by the Prime Minister of India today can achieve great success only when all the basic facilities are provided hassle-free to the Industrial sector in the country.
Mr Ganai, who was chief guest at the `Make in India’ programme, jointly organised by Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Jammu and the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Delhi, today described the `Make in India’ campaign as great visionary step taken by the Prime Minister of the country Naredndra Modi but he said that the programme can be successful only when the Industry is provided favourable atmosphere for the growth. He said there is need to provide all the basic facilities like land, bank credit, water, power supply, tax rebate etc. without any trouble to the investors/ industrialists.
He pointed out that the foreign companies would come here and invest only for profit. They will not be bothered about the employment generation in India. But with the increase in FDI ratio from 26 5 to 49 %, investment from the outside would certainly increase and it will provide job opportunities to the unemployed youth as well. Mr Ganai, at the same time stressed for enhancing skill development among the young work force in the country. He said as referred by Prime Minister, the country has 65 % population below the age of 35 years, which means nearly 75 crore people are young. It indicates that country has large human resource potential which is needed to be properly utilized.
Mr Ganai said after independence the country adopted Corporation concept to develop industry and set up Steel Authority of India Ltd , Coal Authority etc on the pattern of Russia and China, but China later changed its policy and mainly focused on the promotion of private sector. It created `Asian Tigers’ concept and took lead in the massive growth of industry. `Make in India’ is also a shift in the policy and with the formulation of new Industrial Policy for the country, the results would be better in coming years.
