Three day exhibition commences

JAMMU, Sept 25: Three day exhibition – ‘Khadi for Youth’ was inaugurated at Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, which will conclude on September, 27th.
On this occasion, Dr Kiran Bakshi, Principal of the College was the chief guest. It is an initiative of Khadi and Gram Udyog Commission to promote and popularize Khadi and Village Industry goods manufactured by Rural artisans across India including strengthening of “Make in India” concept of our Hon’ble Prime Minister.
Dr Kiran Bakshi in her inaugural address encouraged young students to use Khadi for rural upliftment and development of small scale industries in India. Khadi is a pure Indian products and our students should become the brand ambassadors for promoting these products for the true identity of India.
B S Bangul, State Director KVIC urged students to use Khadi for knowing the real soul of India. It is a symbol of austerity and simplicity which binds India into one thread of love and brotherhood on one hand and pure Swadeshi natural products without any side effects on the other hand.
Prominent among present were A K Sharma, Senior Officer KVIC, A K Dikshit, Senior Manager, Shri Gandhi Sewa Sadan, Rajesh Bakshi, Secretary Khadi Gram Udyog Sewa Sansthan, Sham Singh, Development Officer, staff and students of GCW, Gandhi Nagar.
All Khadi products were exhibited on different stalls viz. including Khadi Kurta Pajama, Ladies Kurta, Modi Kurta, Shirts and Silk and cotton dress material. Gram Udyog stalls exhibited honey, face pack, herbal cream, room freshner, khadi soap and Gandhian Literature was also put up on sale for students’ knowledge and information of Khadi Gram Udyog and Khadi products.
