JAMMU, Sept 25: YP Suman, Managing Director, J&K Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classed Development Corporation conducted two days tour of Rajouri and Poonch districts to ascertain losses caused to business activities of the beneficiaries in the recent floods.
He visited the site of flood affected areas and met beneficiaries of the Corporation in the twin districts. During the tour, he also met the district level officials of the Corporation and directed them to prepare and put up comprehensive report with the status of individual beneficiary.
Mr Suman directed the officials to identify other flood affected persons, who fall within the target group of the Corporation and recommend them for loan assistance to establish the income generating units. The deputations of public representatives and beneficiaries also met the Managing Director and apprised him about prevailing situation in the two border districts.
The MD asked the target group people including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Notified National Minorities (Muslims, Sikhs, Buddhists, Christians, Parsis and Jains), safai karamcharis/scavengers and handicapped people to take maximum benefits from schemes of the Corporation.
