DDC takes stock of restoration of public utilities

Reasi, Sept 27: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Reasi Shabir Ahmad Bhatt today received first hand appraisal of the restoration of public utilities and mitigation of difficulties resulted due to incessant rains/landslides in Pouni tehsil.
Chairing a meeting of district and block officers at Ransoo, the base camp of Shri Shiv Khori Shrine to holy cave, DDC reviewed the measures put in place by the concerned departments to attend to the road clearance operation, supply of electricity, drinking water, stock and supply position of essential commodities, functioning of health institutions and status of NH1C in the area.
DDC directed the Revenue Department to galvanize man power and coordinate with the concerned line departments to complete loss assessment survey of the affected areas and submit a detailed report at the earliest. He also took stock of the damages to agriculture and horticulture crops in area and issued on the spot instructions to the concerned officers for assessment of the damages in coordination with revenue authorities.
Later on, DDC held a series of interactions with members of PRIs and locals of Ransoo and adjoining areas and listened to their grievances. The people demanded early repair of road, water supply scheme and compensation for the crop and property damages caused by incessant rains/landslides. DDC assured the people all possible help from the district administration.
During the tour,  DDC was accompanied by ACR Reasi Tilk Raj Shastri, ACD Reasi Joginder Singh Rai, Teshildar Pouni Bansi Lal and others.
