Relief distribution continues in flood hit areas

JAMMU, Sept 27: Relief material distribution continued in the flood hit areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
The School of Hospitality and Tourism management (SHTM), University of Jammu as a part of its extension activities, collected food grains, clothes and other food items etc for the flood affected victims. Prof Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director, SHTM, Dr Anil Gupta, Asstt Prof, Dr Suvidha Khanna, Asstt Prof along with the other faculty members and students of the School visited the flood victims residing in Rambagh (a village near Satwari) and donated various relief material collected by them. The coordinators of the activity were Dr Anil Gupta and Dr Suvidha Khanna, Asstt Prof, SHTM. The main sponsors were Vikrant Dogra, Federation of Indian Blood Donor Organizations, Bharat Choudhary, KC Industries, Bubneshwar Gandotra, general secretary, Jammu Heritage Society and MD Kailash Cafeteria.
Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation under the presence of Retd Brigadier BS Cheema, member incharge, Medical Health and Social Welfare, Sant Nirankar Mandal, Delhi organized relief camp for flood affected peoples of Phallian Mandal at village Sumb. Blankets, ladies suit, gents suit, kids wear were distributed to more than 500 needy peoples. Ajit Singh, Zonal Incharge Zone 1 Jammu was also present.
CARE India team members who were positioned in Rajouri are now joined by more team members for the Kashmir leg of distribution. CARE India is distributing relief material to 5000 families in the districts of Rajouri in Jammu and Pulwama and Baramulla districts of Kashmir. Post distributing food and drinking water, CARE is distributing survival kits which consist of hygiene kits, tarpaulins, mats, blankets and solar lamps. In addition to survival kits, CARE India is also distributing dignity kits for women and adolescent girls.
District Police Poonch today provided uniforms, stationery items, books and school bags to about 50 students of different schools whose houses were damaged during the flood and all the belongings including books/uniforms were washed away by the strong current of river water. Shamsheer Hussain, SSP Poonch while speaking advised the flood affected students for hard working and inculcating themselves the moral values for excelling in all spheres of life. He assured the students that J&K Police is ready to provide all type of assistance so that their study may not suffer due to lack of uniform and books. Amit Gupta, ASP Poonch, Khalid Amin DySP DAR-DPL Poonch, Deepak Digra, DySP Hqrs Poonch and prominent personalities were also present on the occasion.
MHAC School, Nagbani distributed 100 blankets under the banner of Arya Yuva Samaj, among the flood affected people of Gurha Manhasan, Kothe Chiban, Kothe Brahmna, Gurha Maira, Dhan Pur, Deora, Krishan Pura and Takwal.
Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) donated blankets among the flood affected victims of Saidgarh and Shibu Chack in Bishnah and Kullian in Miran Sahib areas. The overgrowth grass and tress were also cleared, while as the road and surrounding areas of cremation ground in Kullian were also maintained.
Puri Oil Mills Limited distributed P Mark mustard oil bottles to flood affected victims of Sure Chak, Ram Bagh, Hakkal, Ganesu Chak, Karnailey Chak and nearby villages in Jammu district and Panchari village in Udhampur district and few other places as part of its social responsibility and commitment towards their fellow citizens and welfare of the State.
The relief material in the shape of eatables, clothes including woolens, shawls, jackets and blankets etc. were distributed amongst the flood affected people by judicial officers of Districts Udhampur under the supervision of Principal District and Sessions Judge Udhampur. The relief material  was distributed at village  Panjar, Pathi, Sui-Sambal, Jaganoo, Doob -Dooba Basti  Jakhani of  Tehsil Udhampur by Chief  Judicial  Magistrate and  District Mobile  Magistrate Traffic  Udhampur. In Chenani tehsil, the relief material was distributed under the supervision of Munsiff Chenani amongst the affected people of Village Chasku, Dharamthal, Mada, Chalyar, Chirdi and Ghawal. Similarly in the tehsil Ramnagar, the relief material was distributed under the supervision of Sub-Judge Ramnagar amongst the affected people of Village Chatrari, Amorh and Kulawanta and in the tehsil Majalta relief material was distributed under the supervision of Munsiff Majalta amongst the affected people of Village Majalta, Katheel, Peoni, Bharnara, Plater, Thial, Jagwal, Chiani, Palnoo, Thalora, Manwal, Bhati Barigarh and Battal Morh.
Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Ramban, Yahaya Firdoz accompanied by Sub-Judge, Batote, Pawan Kumar Sharma today distributed relief material among 150 families affected by the flood or landslide in Batote tehsil.
The relief material consisted of clothes and eatables. On the occasion about 200 persons were also examined and provided free medicines in a medical camp organised by a medical team headed by BMO, SKME, Batote, Dr Manzoor Ahmed in the premises of Court Complex.
A medical-cum-veterinary camp was organized by army today at village Chaksiri, Baramulla for the flood affected victims. During the camp, the team of doctors including lady doctors and veterinary doctors examined 700 patients and more than 600 livestock respectively. They were provided free medical aid and medicines.
