JAMMU, Oct 2: High Court today stayed enquiry against the Chairman and Board of Directors of Citizens Cooperative Bank.
The order was passed in a petition filed by Dinesh Gupta, Chairman of the Bank seeking quashment of Order No 12-B&F of 2013 dated July 23, 2013 passed by Registrar Cooperative Societies whereby Vikas Verma, District Audit Officer Cooperative Societies Jammu was appointed as Inquiry Officer to conduct an enquiry into the complaint sent by Minister of Cooperatives.
After hearing Advocate Abhinav Sharma appearing for the petitioner, Justice Tashi Rabstan issued notice to Commissioner Secretary Cooperative Department, Registrar Cooperative Societies, Inquiry Officer and Manohar Lal Sharma, Minister for Cooperatives, returnable within four weeks.
“Subject to the objections from other side and till next date before the bench, operation of impugned Order No 12-B&F of 2013 dated July 23, 2013 passed by Registrar Cooperative Societies shall remain stayed”, Justice Rabstan directed.
