JAMMU, Oct 2: While paying tributes to Gandhiji and Lal Bahadur Shastriji on their birthdays at a public meeting in Udhampur, Prof. Bhim Singh, chief patron-JKNPP served a strong notice to the publicity mongers, politicians saying that all of us should clean our minds and hearts first before displaying to the camera for publicity stunt.
He quoted the examples of Gandhiji and Shashtriji who left no bank accounts at the time of their deaths. Taking a broom (Jharu) in hand and playing before the camera with the slogan of ‘Swachh Bharat’ means nothing to create Swachh Bharat. He said when our minds are polluted, our hearts are full of criminal mensria and we are busy in robbing the nation, looting state exchequer and prospering at the cost of the wretched of the earth, Bharat shall not become great by cleaning the streets or the floors of the office of the bureaucrats responsible for the darkness in the future of India.
Balwant Singh Mankotia, MLA, Udhampur & President of JKNPP started fast unto death with scores of Sarpanchs and Panthers Party activists at a Centre Square in Udhampur demanding distribution of essential commodities, medicines, drinking water to the flood affected people, mostly farmers and labourers in Udhampur District. The Chief patron, Prof. Bhim Singh garlanded Mankotia and others who sat on hunger strike. Mr. Mankotia demanded criminal action against the authorities responsible for allowing hundreds of tones of ration and relief materials to go waste on the Railway Station, Udhampur. He said that trains came from Uttarakhand and other places loaded with relief materials, which is rotting at the Railway Station, Udhampur and other places.
