KATHUA, Oct 2: A conductor of a truck was knocked down by another truck at Lakhanpur early this morning after he alighted from his vehicle and was walking on the roadside.
He has been identified as Karnail Singh, 35, S/o Daleep Singh of Gurdaspur, Punjab.
According to police Karnail after alighting from his truck which was parked at Lakhanpur early this morning has just started walking on roadside when he was knocked down by another truck coming from Punjab resulting into his instant death.
He was shifted to District Hospital Kathua for postmortem. The Lakhanpur Police has registered a case against the truck driver. The police has also seized the truck bearing number PV 06N 2744, but its driver managed to flee. The body was later handed over to the family members for last rites.
