SRINAGAR, Oct 4: A senior army officer today briefed Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra about the post-flood operations carried out by the forces in the valley.
“Lt Gen Subrata Saha, General Officer Commanding of the Army’s 15 Corps, called on the Governor and briefed him about the post-flood operations being carried out in the valley in which the army is fully involved,” an official spokesman said.
The Lt Gen also briefed the Governor about the rehabilitation work underway at Badami Bagh Cantonment and at various military stations in the valley which were affected by the floods.
The army officer also informed the Governor about the continuing infiltration attempts from across the LoC since the onset of floods, the spokesman said.
Vohra lauded the role of armed forces, particularly the army, for their role in the aftermath of the devastating floods and the promptitude with which they had come forward to provide rescue and relief to the people.
The Governor also complimented the IAF for evacuating over 12,000 people during the difficult period, the spokesman said. (Agencies)
