Ensure proper supply of ration: Singh

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Oct 4: Prominent social worker and SSP (retd) Bhupinder Singh today urged the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department to ensure proper and regular supply of ration in the villages of Suchetgarh Assembly constituency.
Mr Singh made this appeal to the CAPD Department after noticing resentment among the people of various villages of Suchetgarh over poor supply of ration.
He observed that people have been making repeated requests to the ration dealers of their respective areas but CAPD Department has failed to redress their demand of proper supply of ration.
The villagers told Mr Singh that whenever they approach the ration dealers they simply state that department was not supply ration. Some of the villagers even accused some ration dealers of indulging in the black-marketing by denying the ration to the genuine rationees.
They also alleged that ration dealers were forcing them to pay repeated visits to the depot on one pretext or the other. “This amounts to compelling us to purchase ration from the open market, which is beyond our reach because of price rise”, the villagers said and demanded that the erring ration dealers should be replaced.
