SRINAGAR, Oct 8: PCC president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz MP visited flood affected areas of Higam, Nallah Ningli (Tarzowa Veir), Haritar and Tarzowa in Sangrama constituency and met various delegations of the victims who narrated their difficulties.
Prof Soz assured people that they would receive proper compensation for the loss of property they have suffered. At Tarzowa Veir (Lock on Ningli Nallah) Prof Soz spoke to Chief Engineer Irrigation, Kashmir Javed Jaffer and suggested him to open the gates of Tarzowa Veir (Ningli Nallah), which have remained closed during the floods. He told the CE to open the gates after repairs which is needed immediately so that water level recedes quickly.
Prof Soz also addressed a largely attended public meeting at Haritar where flood sufferers of entire area were present. They made a strong appeal for their rehabilitation. Prof Soz gave them a commitment from his own person and the Congress party that they would remain steadfast with the people and help the Central as well as State Government to devise a long term policy for flood control ensuring that such a disaster does not occur in future.
Prof Soz was accompanied by Mohd Muzaffar Parray, Shoiab Nabi Lone, Haji Ab Rashid Dar, Dr Sayeed Ahmad, Imtiyaz Parray and Mohd Ashraf Parray.
