Solux Lighting to donate lanterns among flood victims

JAMMU, Oct 8: Solux Lighting Private Limited, India–a subsidiary of Solux Industries of United Kingdom has announced donation of solar lanterns worth Rs one lakh among the flood affected families of Udhampur and Reasi districts under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy of the company.
This was disclosed by Managing Director of Solux Lighting Private Limited Sonia Singh during a press conference here today. Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Shantmanu and K Singh, Chairman of Solux Industries were also present.
She appealed to other corporate houses which are active in the State to come forward and participate in spreading a light of hope among the needy people.
While addressing the power shortage issue across India, Singh urged for the use of Light Emitting Diode (LED) products in combination with solar power energy sources. She added that the nation should switch to LEDs that offer up to 85-90 per cent saving on power and 70 per cent on electricity bills.
Sonia Singh is a well-known name in lighting industry who has worked for prestigious lighting brands in UK and USA and after gathering 12 years of experience from abroad she is here to serve her own country and State (J&K) she hails from.
