JAMMU, July 21: Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu, Kartar Singh today forwarded a complaint filed by Harbhajan Singh, Chairman Udhampur Transport Cooperative Limited against Managing Director of State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) and others to SSP Vigilance Organization for investigation.
In the complaint, it has been submitted that tenders for truck service for the year 2011-2013 were invited by the respondents from registered group transport companies. The last date of opening of tenders was fixed as March 23, 2011 by the tenders opening committee comprising of SRTC officials in presence of the transporters.
The complainant offered 19 % commission for the contract whereas respondent No 7 transport company offered 11 % commission as per the information provided under RTI Act. The complainant was asked by the MD to approach the concerned Minister, who in turn directed MD SRTC and committee members to open bid of the complainant.
The complainant applied for information with respect to the contract under RTI Act in the office of MD SRTC but despite this the information was not provided to the complainant. Accordingly, the complainant knocked the doors of court for registration of case under Section 5(2) of PC Act read with Section 120-B RPC against the respondents.
