Over dozen passengers injured as bus plunges into gorge

DODA, Oct 10: Over a dozen passengers received injuries, when the bus they were traveling in, skidded off the road and plunged into gorge in Ramgarh village near Assar.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK02AD-5687 was on its way to Bhaderwah from Jammu, when the driver failed to negotiate a sharp curve, resulting the vehicle plunged into gorge in Ramgarh village near Assar, causing grievous injuries to around thirteen passengers. The accident took place due to negligent driving by the driver.
After getting information, police and locals rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.
All the injured were shifted to Sher-e-Kashmir Hospital, Batote, in police and other vehicles, from where eight were later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu for advanced treatment.
The injured have been identified as Rohan Gupta of Bhaderwah, Haries Bashir Bhagwan of Mohalla Qilla Bhaderwah, Mukthar Singh of Madhola Doda, Anita of Kondra Bhaderwah, Arti of Shan Mohalla Kishtwar, Dheeraj Singh of Shan Mohallah, Kishtwar, Darvi of Shan Mohallah, Kishtwar, Balwant Singh of Dandi Bhaderwah, Mohammad Sadiq of Thanalla Bhaderwah, Mohinder Singh of Panchari, district Udhampur and Feroz Din Mir of Jathi Assar.
A case in this regard has been registered at concerned police station and manhunt launched to nab the driver and conductor of the vehicle, who managed to escape from the spot.
