JAMMU, Oct 10: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Rohit Kansal today reviewed post flood situation with all 10 Deputy Commissioners of Kashmir Valley through video conferencing and directive them for transparent distribution of relief to flood victims within one week and put details of relief disbursement online to maintain complete transparency.
In the meeting, Mr Kansal stressed on three major points including distribution of relief, free ration to all flood affected victims including those whose crops have been destroyed and making provision of tents and blankets for the displaced people.
He directed the Deputy Commissioners to ensure that the distribution of relief, free ration and tents and blankets was expedited to help the people hit by the worst ever floods in the Kashmir Valley.
Mr Kansal directed the Deputy Commissioners to immediately establish Grievances-cum-Complaint Cells at every district headquarters to register relief related complaints of the flood victims and solve them at the earliest.
He called upon them to put Winter Contingency Plan in place immediately so that the flood victims didn’t have to suffer with the onset of winter.
The Divisional Commissioner also issued various other directions to the DCs for welfare of the flood victims.
He said that water, power and roads have been temporarily restored in the Valley.
