Workshop on Essential Computing Techniques by CUJ concludes

JAMMU, Oct 10: Three-day workshop on Essential Computing Techniques organized by Central University of Jammu (CUJ) concluded today in its temporary academic block in Sainik Colony.
On the valedictory function, Incharge Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Devanand said that there had been considerable expansion in the field of technical education in India. The need of the hour is to learn new techniques and tools so that work may be done effectively and efficiently.
He asked Department of Computer Science and Information Technology to organize more such workshops on the new and upcoming technologies. He also distributed the certificates to the participants.
The incharge Head of the Department, Dr Bhawna Arora informed that the workshop was organized for the faculty members and research scholars. More than 70 participants from various departments took part and showed keen interest in learning the techniques. Participants were given hands on training on computing tools like SPSS, Internet and MS-Excel.
Dr Jeevam Jyoti and Dr Sanjay from the University of Jammu were the resource persons.
Deans of different schools of CUJ and the Registrar, Jit Singh were also present in the function.
Meanwhile, Incharge Vice Chancellor of the University Prof Devanand, teaching and non-teaching employees of the University have contributed their one-day salary to the Prime Minister Relied Fund. The OSD (Finance), HK Prashar informed that a cheque amounting Rs 1,40,508 has been sent to the Section Officer, PMNRF, PMO, New Delhi.
