JAMMU, Oct 10: In the much publicized Giri encounter case, proclamation under Section 87 CrPC was issued by Judicial Magistrate against one of the accused.
As per police sources, proclamation under Section 87 CrPC was issued by Judicial Magistrate against Gurdeep Singh, son of Harnam Singh, a resident of 83/1 Channi Himmat. The Court has directed the accused to appear in person within 30 days.
Gurdeep was one of the accused, who was wanted in the much publicized Giri encounter case registered under FIR number 164/2010 under Section 307, 34, 120-B, 115, 201 RPC and 3/25/27 Arms Act at Channi Himmat police station. The accused was still absconding.
Drum beating was carried out and proclamation was pasted at the house of Gurdeep by police team from Channi Himmat police station led by SHO Inspector Aejaz wani under the supervision of SDPO East Mohammad Rafiq, SP South Rahul Malik and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
It is to mention that Giri was killed in an encounter at Satyam Resort in the year 2010.
