Army organizes mega blood donation camp

BARAMULLA, Oct 11: In continuation with the ongoing efforts of the Army to help the Awam of Kashmir to cope up with the aftermath of recent floods in the Valley, a mega blood donation camp under the supervision of the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Baramulla was organised today at ADS Baramulla.
A joint team of doctors and technicians from ADS Baramulla and District Hospital Baramulla collected the blood. The camp was inaugurated by General Officer Commanding, Dagger Division, Major General Anil Chauhan. Medical Superintendent, District Hospital, Baramulla, was also present on the occasion.
The event saw total of 170 soldiers and officers from various units of Baramulla station going beyond the call of duty for humanitarian cause and enthusiastically donating blood voluntarily. Major General Anil Chauhan along with other officers also donated blood.
The collected blood will be used for patients requiring blood transfusions at various Government hospitals in Baramulla and Srinagar like District Hospital, Baramulla, SKIMS, Srinagar Bone and Joint Hospital, Srinagar.
