KATHUA, Oct 11: A youth was drowned in river Ujh at Chabay Chak falling under the jurisdiction of Raj Bagh Police Station.
He was identified as Raj Kumar, 30 son of Balwant Raj of village Chaki Dari Raj Bagh.
According to police the youth had gone to Chabay Chak along with other youth and after reaching there he went to take a bath in the river Ujh. But as a stranger he went near a deep ditch in the river and drowned.
Later, Raj Bagh Police with the help of some local youth fished out his body from water. It was taken to District Hospital Kathua for postmortem and after completing all legal formalities later handed over to family for last rites.
The Raj Bagh Police has registered a case under Section 174.
