MUMBAI, Oct 12: Addressing a series of public meetings here today in the concluding phase of the State Assembly election campaign in Maharashtra, Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, urged upon people to vote for Bharatiya Janata Party, saying that a vote for BJP will be a vote for stability and mark the end of more than one decade of misgovernance.
Speaking at a largely attended public rally at Tarapur in the suburbs of Mumbai, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the Modi government at the Centre has within four months proved beyond evidence that it is the best option that the voter has, for stable, progressive and development-oriented governance. He asked for vote in favour of two BJP candidates from Tarapur,Jagdish Kumar and Dr Prem Gowd.
If the people of Maharashtra also wish to reproduce the same model in their State, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that they would have to ensure that BJP is voted to power with full majority of more than 150 seats in the State Assembly.
Describing Mumbai as the commercial capital of India and one of the most cosmopolitan destinations in the world, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the State of Maharashtra, and particularly the city of Mumbai, deserve nothing less than a government which means business and rises above petty politics or factionalism.
Narendra Modi, he said, has presented a living model of such governance and when BJP is voted to power here, this would result in absolute synergy between the Centre and the State, and the difference would be visible to the people within a few months.
Earlier, Dr. Jitendra Singh was taken in an open “Rath” through the residential areas of Anu Shaktipur and other localities near Chembur, where he called upon the government employees to vote for BJP in order to fulfill their longstanding demands like transport facility within the colony and Boudh Vihas Centre for Dalit sections in the area. These are very small demands he said, but were never seriously followed up and if the BJP candidate, Vittul Kharatmal, who has the experience of having been a Corporator four-times, is voted as an MLA from here, he surely has the capacity to follow-up the day to day issues brought up by the local population.
