Manohar lays foundation stone of Middle school building

KATHUA, Oct 12: Minister of State for Fisheries, Cooperatives,Finance and Planning Dr Manohar Lal Sharma said that Government has adopted a robust policy to strengthen the educational infrastructure at all levels.
The Minister said this after laying foundation stone of school building of recently upgraded Middle School Bundhar.
The three room building will be constructed under Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) with an estimated cost of Rs 7.45 lakh.
Dr Sharma also laid foundation stone of recently upgraded Government High School at Uppar Rajwalta.
While highlighting the achievements of the present dispensation the Minister said that the expansion of education infrastructure to the remotest areas was given priority and schools ranging from primary, middle, high and higher secondary were systematically upgraded with faculty to bridge the gap between school and students. He said degree colleges were also opened with modern stream of subjects.
Dr Sharma said parents must encourage their pupils to persue higher education alongwith cocurricular activities to achieve success and be an asset to the nation
Later, Dr Sharma also held a public meeting at Rajwalta where he listened the problems and demands of the locals.
The demand of blacktooping of Rajwalta was highlighted by all the deputations. Other demands projected included Kitchen Shed for school, tractor road for Simbli, provision of post office, new anganwadi centre, pending MGNREGA payments, shortage of school staff, damaged electricity poles, new high capacity transformer and replacement of old PHE pipes.
Dr Sharma said the projected demands will be addressed on priority and assured that the problem of water scarcity will be adressed with new Lift Irrigation Scheme. He assured that the pending MGNREGA payments will be diabursed at an earliest.
The Minister also distributed blankets among the recent rains and flood affected families.
