One killed, 19 hurt in mishap

BISHNAH, Oct 12: One person was killed and 19 others injured after a speeding mini-bus today turned turtle at Deoli in Bishnah area of Samba district.
According to a police spokesperson, the ill-fated mini-bus bearing registration No JK02E-3368 was on its way from Bari Brahamana to Arnia, when the driver of the vehicle lost control over the steering at Deoli, resulting into tragedy.
One person namely Gyan Chand (70- 75 years) son of Sadhu Ram and resident of Ala died on the spot while 19 others received injuries in the accident.
All the injured were immediately shifted to Sub District Hospital, Bishnah wherefrom in view of their serious condition, Pooja Devi daughter of Mulkh Raj, Rita Devi wife of Sham Lal, Ashok Kumar son of Kaku Ram, Meera Devi daughter of Desh Raj and Darshna Devi wife of Mulkh Raj, all residents of Ala, were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where their condition was stated to be stable till the last reports came in.
The other 14 persons injured in the accident are Taro Devi wife of Inder Dass, Suman Devi wife of Khem Raj, Chanchala Devi wife of Rattan Lal, Girdhari Lal son of Garib Dass, Shindo Devi wife of Subhash Chander, Kamla Devi wife of Roop Lal and Deepak Kumar, son of Roop Lal, all residents of Ala, and Sunita Devi wife of Bua Ditta resident of Joian, Anita Devi wife of Ram Chand, resident of Amir Nagar (Dabar), Rajeev Singh son of Jarnail Singh resident of Suhagpur, Raj Kumar son of Babu Ram resident of Kuthe Sania, Suman Devi wife of Krishan Lal resident of Bhadarpur and Krishna Devi wife of Ashok Kumar and resident of Taraf Brahamana.
A case in this regard has been registered at Police Station, Bishnah and the investigations started.
