SRINAGAR: As many as 35 people of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here this afternoon while eight Kashmiris crossed over to other side of the Line of Control (LoC) to meet their relatives separated in 1947, official sources said.
They said 25 returnees also crossed sides on the LoC at Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of the border. This was the first bus run after Eid on October 6 when no guests cross sides on LoC because of festival.
Sources said 35 PoK people, including 11 women and five children, arrived at Kaman post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge on foot this afternoon. Four residents of Kashmir, who had crossed over to POK also returned to their homes after meeting their relatives, separated due to partition.
Sources said eight Kashmiri residents crossed over to other side to meet their separated relatives in POK. They said 21 POK residents also returned to their homes after completing their stay in Kashmir.
The bus service, started on April 7,2005 when then Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh flagged off the first Karvan-e-Aman peace bus, has helped thousands of divided families to meet each other.
