Nobel for Kailash and Malala

Sir,
It is a matter of great pride for India that Mr. Kailash Satyarthi, an electrical engineer and long time champion of children’s rights has been conferred with the Nobel Prize for Peace for this year.He is the co-recipient of this coveted prize with Pakistani child activist, 17- yr. old and a household name in the world,Malala Yousoufzai who fought for the rights of the girls for education in Swat valley of Pakistan and survived an attack on her life by the Taliban. She has become the youngest Nobel Laureate in the world.Mr. Kailash Satayarthi who runs an NGO named Bachpan Bachao Andolan( Save Childhood Movement) is credited to have rescued about 80,000 children from child labour but it is sad that his yeoman’s work didn’t attract much media attention until he received the Nobel Peace Prize for the year 2014.
It is laudable that both the Nobel Laureates who launched crusade against suppression of the rights of children, have decided to work together for the deprived children transcending the borders. The journey of both the crusaders have been arduous and difficult but ultimately the world has recognised their work and dedication for the noble cause of prevention of child labour and child abuse and exploitation. The Nobel Prize will prove to be a great inspiration for the millions of children who have been deprived of their rights to receive education and live a dignified childhood and who find it difficult to break the vicious circle of poverty and exploitation.
Yours etc….
