DDC reviews performance of banks

REASI, Oct 14: District Development Commissioner Reasi Shabir Ahmad Bhat today reviewed the performance of banks at District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting   for the quarter ending June 2014.
The meeting had a detailed discussion on the progress achieved in sponsoring the cases under different self-employment schemes by  the departments including  Agriculture, KVIB, KVIC, Employment, Industries, Animal/ Sheep Husbandry, ST /SC Corporation.
LDM Reasi Sanjeev Bhardwaj informed the meeting that the deposits and advances of banks as on ending June 2014 stood at 140009 lakh and 38015 lakh respectively, thus achieving CD ratio of 27.15%.
Besides, against 40%  benchmark  for priority sector advances,  the banks have achieved 60.63% advances. The advances to weaker sections and women beneficiaries are 13% and 6.50% respectively against national target of 10%, added LDM.
The DDC instructed the banks to facilitate easy credit flow to the women beneficiaries to enable them to have independent source of income. He also emphasized upon all the banks and Government departments to work in coordination to achieve the targets under the current annual credit plan. He directed all the banks to adopt multi-pronged holistic approach to make their outreach possible in the far-flung villages, which lack banking facility.
While reviewing the status of KCC, the DDC was informed that 616 KCCs have been issued till June 2014. He urged the banks to complete 100% coverage of farmers under KCC scheme and expedite the cases of other schemes so as to achieve the set targets.
Among others the meeting was attended by CPO Reasi G. L Sharma, P.O DRDA Dr Jagdish Mehra, GM DIC Krishan Lal, CAHO K L Gupta,  CHO  Susheel k Angurana,  DDM NABARD Arshi Sharma,  Cluster Head JK Bank Vibhakar Khajuria, AGM RBI,  various district officers and representatives from all banks.
