JAMMU, Oct 14: A large number of Congresas activists from Bishnah constituency took out a protest rally in Jammu demanding relief and rehabilitation for the Pakistani firing victims.
The Congress activists from Bishnah under the banner of BCC led by former Minister and president  Dogra Sadder Sabha Gulchain Singh Charak assembled at Dogra Hall and started protest march. The activists carrying banners and placards in hands, depicting demands were raising loud slogans.
The workers after passing through Shalamar, Raghunath Bazar and Gumat Bazar, reached Press Club where they staged massive demonstration for some time. They were demanding that Pakistani firing victims be provided 5 marla plots and rehabilitated at safer places. The farmers be compensated for the damages suffered and all the victims and their families be provided adequate relief, they added.
Later, a delegation of the BCC activists led by Mr Charak met the  Divisional Commissioner, Jammu and submitted a memorandum for the Government. Dr N K Dogra vice president DSS, Prem Sagar Gupta -general secretary, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak incharge Youth wing, Capt Harshvardan Congress leader, Madan Bhagat, Dr O P Saini and others also accompanied.
They projected that 5 marla plots be allotted to the border people at safer places, special recruitment drive in security forces for border youth be launched, 5-8 kms border belt be declared as Backward area, amount of ex-gratia/ relief be hiked, proper medical arrangements be made for victims  facing Pakistani  bullets/ shells and the  farmers be adequately compensated for the damages caused.
