NHAI to start patch work soon: DC

SAMBA, Oct 15: Sharing the concern of people, the District Development Commissioner, Samba, Mubarak Singh has taken up the issue for the renovation of National Highway in Samba township and other places in the district with officers National Highway Authorities of India (NHAI).
Talking to Excelsior,  Mr Singh said that he has taken up the issue with the NHAI officers who have assured to start the restoration work soon. He said he has also convened a meeting with the officers of NHAI soon to discuss the problems being faced by the commuters on this account.
The DC expressed the hope that the restoration work will be started soon and the problem will be solved.
Meanwhile sources in NHAI said that they have already called the tenders for doing the patch work on NH right from Lakhanpur to Jammu for the smooth plying of traffic and convenience of people.
Sources said that NHAI is on the job and the patch work will be started soon.
The people in Samba district have expressed grave concern over the condition of NH in the town and at various places from Samba to Bari Brahmana. They have demanded its immediate restoration.
It may be recalled that the D C Kathua had also initiated criminal proceedings under 133 CRPC against the NHAI for its failure in not taking steps to construct the patch of NH at Lakhanpur Tool Post.
