LPEF demands release of DA

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Oct 16: All J&K Low Paid Employees Federation (LPEF) has strongly urged upon the Government to immediately release 10% and 7% DA installment from January and July 2014 in favour of State employees and pensioners in order to relieve them from undue miseries they have been facing due to unprecedented increase in prices of essential commodities.
State president of the Federation, Abdul Majid Khan, said that Central Government and most of the State Governments have provided this relief to their employees long back while as J&K Government is cryptically silent over these matters of vital concern.
Alleging that due to inordinate delay in releasing the DA amount by the Government, a sense of anguish and anger has grown among the employees and pensioners throughout the State, Khan urged the Government to release the remaining amount of 6th CPC arrears to employees and pensioners.
The federation chief also urged upon the State Government to revive daily wage to Rs 250, raise remuneration of village guards at par with minimum daily wage in vogue in the State.
