Shivdev Sushil’s short stories collection ‘Kun Apne’ released

JAMMU, Oct 16: “Kun Apne”, a collection of fourteen short stories penned by noted Dogri writer Shivdev Sushil, was released today during a function organized by Duggar Manch.
Function was chaired by D K Vaid, a Sahitya Akademi Awarded Dogri writer and Ramesh Mehta, a prominent Hindi-Dogri writer. They threw light on the works of Shivdev Sushil and his contribution for Dogri language.
Shivdev Sushil, a noted writer of Dogri and recipient of Sahitya Akademi Award, has fourteen published books to his credit till date in different genre. He wrote and published four books of poetry, three novels, three stage plays and four books of short story collections.
‘Kun Apne’ is his fourth book of short stories collection. He got Sahitya Akademi Award for his novel “Bakhare-Bakhare Sach”. Most of his short stories and poems are translated into Hindi and got critical appreciation. He is a committed sympathizer of economically downtrodden and reflection of his ideology can be noticed prominently in his writings.
In his welcome address, Mohan Singh, president Duggar Manch, spoke about the contribution of Shiv Dev Sushil in the field of Dogri literature as well as in the field of Dogri language and its development. He said, “we should feel proud to be a Dogra and should love our mother language Dogri to save our identity”.
Dr Sunita Bhadwal presented a paper on critical evaluation of the book.
