NEW DELHI, Oct 17: Crude oil futures recovered by 0.29 per cent to Rs 5,107 per barrel today as speculators created positions amid a firm trend in Asia.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in November gained Rs 15, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 5,107 per barrel, with a business turnover of 210 lots.
The oil for delivery in October moved up by Rs 13, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 5,122 per barrel, with a business volume of 846 lots.
Marketmen said the rise in crude oil futures was largely in tandem with a firming trend in Asia on bargain-buying today, a day after the US benchmark fell below USD 80 for the first time in more than two years.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude prices for delivery in March 2015 advanced by 60 cents to USD 83.30 a barrel and Brent rose 74 cents to USD 86.56 in late-morning trade on the New York Mercantile Exchange. (PTI)
